Built in 1842, she had travelled through many eras, shaped by weather, time, and human hands… yet her essence remained. She didn’t need erasing or reinvention. She needed care. Respect. Thoughtful restoration. The kind that honours what has been, while gently supporting what comes next.

This became a passion project rooted in belief: that transformation doesn’t mean starting over. That beauty can deepen with age. That tending, rather than fixing, is often what allows something — or someone — to flourish again.

Every decision was made with this in mind. To restore her with sensitivity. To let her breathe. To allow light back in. To create a place that feels held, calm, and quietly renewed.

Throughout the cottage, the restoration proudly celebrates its origins rather than concealing them. Rare examples of primitive split-slab construction remain visible, details seldom seen in modern accommodation, each one a quiet testament to early craftsmanship.

From the dining table, you can even admire hand-cut shingles, still doing their job centuries later — a reminder of the remarkable lives and hands that shaped this home.
