The Ducks (and ducklings) ––
They’ve been part of The Post House story for as long as anyone can remember — quietly coming and going, watching the seasons change. Today, they’re still here, and you’re very welcome to enjoy their company.
Information about our cute, fluffy friends –
Our Ducks are Long-Term Residents
Long before guests arrived, the ducks did. They’ve wandered these grounds for generations, entirely at home in the rhythms of the property.
We’ve left you some approved duck feed so you can enjoy a quiet moment with them if you wish. Feeding is optional, slow, and best done with patience — they tend to approach when they feel ready. Please avoid feeding anything else, and allow them to move freely and naturally.
A Note About the Ducks
The ducks are not visitors, they belong here – this is their home. They’ve been part of The Post House landscape for decades, and we’re simply sharing the space.
If you’d like to engage, we provide a small amount of safe feed for your use. Scatter gently, keep your movements calm, and enjoy the simple pleasure of their presence. No chasing, no substitutions, just a little shared stillness.
On Duck Time
Like the house itself, the ducks move at their own pace. They’ve always been here, and they’ll decide when to come close, or come at all.
You’re welcome to offer the duck-safe feed provided and enjoy a moment of connection. Please don’t feed them anything else, and let curiosity — theirs and yours — lead the interaction.
